Injury can come about through over-use or insidious onset. Either way, we know it is frustrating and can be hard to accept. At Bodylogics, we will help you with any musculo-skeletal injury, which may or may not be sports related, to reach a diagnosis and a care plan to get you back doing the things you love.

We offer a specialist led service with experts in sport and exercise medicine working with state of the art equipment, and determination, to get you back to full functional movement.

Our approach is simple, to provide the highest level of care to each and every patient and ensure they get the best out of any treatment they receive. We have extensive experience in professional sport, but know the same philosophy and standards apply to all patients, regardless of age. We divide rehabilitation into five distinct phases, ensuring you get the best possible care and support throughout your treatment. Managing patient care and the entire rehabilitation process is what we do best and we are proud of what we have achieved at Bodylogics.

Do I need to see an Injury Rehabilitation Specialist?

The answer to this question depends on your circumstances. Any injury you sustain ultimately weakens that area. Some people have the same re-occurrence of injury which can go on for a long duration. Injury Rehabilitation does not have to happen after injury. Many of the people we see  are athletes who want to ensure they stay injury free and therefore regular sessions with an Injury expert are very important.

We also see many people BEFORE operations. This is known as PRE-HAB. The theory here is that by strengthening a certain muscle group or area before your operation, your general strength when you come out of the operating theatre will be greater and you are therefore able to commence Rehabilitation exercises sooner and have a much greater chance of a quick recovery. See the video link below for a full explanation of why PREHAB is vital for success.

    Your First Appointment

This will typically last 45 or 60 minutes.  Be sure to bring with you any recent X-Ray or other scan results you may have.  If you have previously seen one of our therapist’s then your notes and medical history will be passed to our Injury Rehabilitation team and your treatment will begin immediately. If it is your first visit then you can expect a thorough medical history to be taken to ensure we know and understand the condition.

Our treatments take place in one of two settings, either in clinic (your first appointment will always be in clinic) and then followed with either clinic based rehab or gym based treatment at one of our state of the art gym’s in North London.  Your location details will be clearly explained to you by a member of our team so you know where you will be based.

    And then your journey begins……..

Right from your first appointment your Injury Rehabilitation Specialist will start to prepare a customized rehabilitation plan. Your recovery starts straight away! Exercise is an important component of our model of care, so you should expect to start rehabilitation sessions almost immediately. Sessions are either 60, 45 or 30 minutes long, with a combination of manual therapy, treatment modalities and supervised exercise.

Whilst rehabilitation takes place don’t forget to supplement your treatments with regular Sports Massage.  Sports Massage can help with the re-alignment of collagen fibres which are put under stress during exercise based programmes.  Although your Injury Rehabilitation Specialist will undertake some form of manual therapy during treatment it is always advisable to under-go regular maintenance work to ensure your body is in peak condition.
