Rui is a Specialist MSK Sports Therapist whose journey to becoming one of Bodylogics' leading practitioners began in Portugal before bringing him to London in 2013, where he went on to achieve a first class Honours degree in Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation at Middlesex University. Since then, Rui has built a career that spans elite sport and private clinical practice - including a period working with Tottenham FC Ladies - giving him a level of real-world experience that very few therapists at any level can match.
Rui specialises in strength and conditioning, soft tissue release, dry needling and acupuncture, running biomechanics, and bespoke injury rehabilitation programming. He has a particular interest in back, knee and ankle injuries - conditions he understands deeply, both clinically and personally - and brings a genuinely multi-disciplinary skillset to every patient he works with.
What defines Rui's approach is a philosophy he lives by both inside and outside the clinic: that movement is medicine. Rather than simply treating symptoms, Rui focuses on understanding and addressing the root cause of an injury while keeping the patient moving throughout every stage of their recovery. In his view, exercise isn't something you return to once you're better - it's a fundamental part of getting there in the first place.
Away from the clinic, Rui is a passionate runner who has taken that love of movement to its furthest extreme, competing in ultra-marathons. That personal commitment to pushing physical boundaries gives him a unique and genuine understanding of what it means to be an active person dealing with injury and exactly what it takes to get back to doing what you love at the level you expect of yourself.
