Effects of Sports Massage on building strength and gaining muscle.

Studies taken on hand grip strength have shown that those who received massage immediately following testing made greater strength gains than those with natural recovery

Another study showed that a group of collegiate athletes improved their vertical jump score with the intervention of massage.  The timing of massage was key to this, set at the perceived time of peak soreness, to help aid recovery speed
