Holistic Massage Therapy

Massage is essentially the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body - the muscles, tendons and ligaments. It can be used for relaxation, stimulation or rehabilitation of the whole body or part of it. It promotes suppleness of the muscles, improves circulation, aids general relaxation and reduces stress. The effects of massage are both Physiological (relating to the physical structure of the body) and Psychological (relating to the mind).

Massage promotes a state of deep relaxation which allows the body to release tension, free blocked emotions and initiate healing from within. Massage is beneficial to all body systems and is a natural and effective way to treat both physical conditions and psychological problems.

The term “holistic” comes from the Greek word holos, meaning whole. The holistic approach to massage takes into account the whole person i.e. your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing which are all interconnected. This includes any physical symptoms you may have as well as any emotional problems and stresses in your life.
